Violet Marie Ewing

Violet Marie Ewing, age 91, of Prince, WV passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025.

She was born at Export Hollow, on January 30, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Osborne Smith.

Mrs. Ewing retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education, having served as a cook and custodian at Piney View Elementary School.

Mrs. Ewing attended Bradley Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, and taking care of her lawn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Ewing; by siblings, Leroy Smith  Verna Ewing, Jimmy Smith, Janie Flint, Dale Smith, and Andy Smith; A sister-in-law Betty Smith.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include sons, Jesse (Rhonda) Ewing of Stanaford, and Curtis Ewing of  Prince; Five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind one sister, Nila Pierro of  Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at noon with Rev. Gary Claypool officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with  the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
