Wanda Lucille Ervin, 73, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Mount Hope, West Virginia.
Born on January 30, 1952, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she brought warmth and joy to those around her throughout her life.
Wanda was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Amy Skeens (Chad) and Tiffany Henggeler; her grandchildren, Angela Skeens, Hunter Skeens, and Bradley Skeens; and her great-grandchildren, Laynie Johnson and Landon Skeens. She had two very special friends: Carol Everhart and Pat Tomlinson. She also leaves behind her brother, Ronnie Ervin (Ann).
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Horton.
Known for her love of baking and cooking, Wanda found joy in preparing meals for any and every occasion. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked dishes and sweet treats—each one made with care and shared generously with family and friends. Her culinary talents were more than just a hobby; they were an expression of love that brought people together.
Wanda cherished time spent with her family. Whether gathered around the table or simply enjoying each other's company, these moments were the heart of her happiness. Her presence brought comfort and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her.
Wanda was a member of the IAAP for over 20 years where she served as president during her time there. She worked for the athletic department at Wake Forest University for over 20 years before retiring.
She was loved dearly and will be missed by many. May her memory bring peace and comfort to all who knew her.
