Wanda Ransom

Wanda Ransom, age 89, of Shady Spring, WV, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Raleigh Center in Daniels, WV.

Born on December 6, 1935, in Mount View, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Carl Ransom and Rhoda Jane Logan Ransom.

Wanda was a homemaker and attended the Open Door Church at Shady Spring, when health allowed.

She enjoyed crocheting and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Bernice Lowery, Ellen Lilly and Lois Redden; by brothers James Ransom, Huey Ransom, Buren Ransom, George "Clacy" Ransom,  and Clayton Ransom, and by a special niece, Linda Moore. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Those surviving include a son, Mark Ransom; many nieces and nephews, including her niece Annette Irvin and husband David of Shady Spring; a brother-in-law Dophen Redden of Shady Spring.

A memorial service will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00AM with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. There will be no visitation.
