Wanita Carol Weeks

Wanita Carol Weeks, 75, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, due to natural causes.

Born in Odd on July 30, 1950, to the late Clifford Maurice and Nora Pearl Bolen Weeks, Carol lived a life rich in her faith, cooking, music, and the outdoors. She was a complex and deeply unique individual whose passions touched those who knew her well.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Jerry David and John Clifford Weeks, a sister Drema Louise Lilly, and a grandson Noah James Sheehan. Her sister, Denise Ann Beckelhimer passed away on December 29.

Carol leaves behind 3 daughters, Melissa Jagdon, Jennifer Harper (and husband Brian), and Tara Sheehan (and husband Matthew), 4 grandsons, Harley Eastman, Collin Packer, Gabriel Sheehan, Jackson Sheehan, and 1 great-grandson, Grayson Sheehan; a brother, Joseph Weeks (and wife Tammie), and a sister, Deborah Tucker (and husband Ricky); along with many nieces and nephews.

Carol attended Fireco Elementary and Stoco High School. In addition to West Virginia, Carol also lived in Ohio and Massachusetts, where she formed lasting friendships and enriched the lives of many.

Carol was a talented musician and played multiple instruments including the piano, guitar, mandolin, autoharp, and dulcimer. Carol took pride in her work as a chef and, at times, was employed in this profession. She expressed her kindness by preparing dishes for others - particularly during times of need - as a source of comfort and encouragement. She especially enjoyed making people "sweet treats".

Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 13, 1969, Carol's faith in God and Jesus Christ guided her life and gave her strength, purpose, and hope.

A service celebrating Carol's life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 199 Gunter Road, Beckley, WV.  The memorial service will also be available via Zoom for those who wish to attend remotely.
