Wayne Butcher

Wayne Butcher, 65, of Beckley, WV passed away from a sudden illness January 11, 2024, just days away from his 66th birthday.  He was born January 16, 1958 to the late Orlen and Pauline Butcher of Nettie, WV.

Having recently retired as a field IT for IBEX Global after 16 years, he enjoyed traveling, playing PokemonGo, and watching college sports. He was devoted to his family and an animal lover, being a cat-dad to Sahara after rescuing her 18 years ago. He also worked for Kroger for more than 20 years and CellularOne.

Those left to cherish Wayne's memory include Susan, his wife of 45 years, daughter Emily, special friend/"son" Michael Gray, sister Vicki Butcher, brother Danny Butcher, sister-in-law Barbara Butcher, sister-in-law Donna Lively, brother-in law Norman Rexrode Jr (Jamie), sister-in-law Barbara Williams (Fred), sister-in-law Jane Jones (Mark), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Sam Butcher, Orlen Butcher Jr "Butch", and Ricky Butcher, as well as mother-and-father-in-law Norman and Hicle Rexrode and niece Samantha Hathaway.

In lieu of flowers (because Sahara will eat them!), please consider making a donation to the humane society, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association in Wayne's name or your local food bank.

A memorial gathering for Mr. Wayne Butcher  will be held for family members and friends to attend at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, 1901 South Kanawha Street, in Beckley, WV. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM.
