Rev. Wayne Holder

Reverend Wayne Holder, 83, of Beckley, passed away May 11, 2024 at Bower Hospice House.

He was born August 26, 1940 in Greensboro, NC, to Jack and Clem Holder.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years,Peggy Parrish Holder, daughters Sylvia Reedy (Jeff) of Beckley, and Teresa Holder of Raleigh, NC. He also leaves behind this brother J.C. Holder of Oak Island, NC, three grandchildren, Amy Lilly (Troy), Josh Shackleford (Brittani), Megan Davis (Matthew), and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Wilma.

Together with Peggy, he served faithfully in ministry for more than 50 years.  After retiring as the senior pastor of Bible Baptist Church, he served as a missionary of First Baptist International producing scriptures to share the gospel around the world. Throughout his life, he led with his love of and generous service to others.

The visitation and funeral will be held at Bible Baptist Church, 2071 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.
