William "Willie" Eugene Robinson

William Eugene Robinson, 58, of Beckley, West Virginia departed this life on Monday, October 6, 2025.

Born in Beckley, WV on January 13, 1967, he was the son of the late Rev. William Robinson and the late Rose Marie Reid Robinson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Dwayne Robinson.

Willie graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1985 and later attended Wake Forest University and Bluefield State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. He was an avid sportsman and athlete playing both football and baseball, where he made many lifelong friends. He was inducted into the Woodrow Wilson High School Football Hall of Fame and continued playing with the Demon Deacons during his time at Wake Forest. He continued his love of the game through coaching area youth in both baseball and football where his leadership impacted many lives.

Willie was a long-time member of Saint John United Holy Church, where he deeply enjoyed hearing the word of God taught and preached.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 36 years, Lynn Moore-Robinson, two children, Jonathan Vincent Moore (Ann) and Jennifer Millette Robinson (Robert) both of Beckley, WV. Six grandchildren Arianna Logwood of Huntington, WV, Adaija Logwood, Jonathan Moore Jr., Amya Moore, Robert Blaney Jr. and Jacob Blaney all of Beckley, WV. One great grandson Khari Wilson of Beckley, WV. One sister, Lisa Hairston (Rev. Harold Hairston) of Beckley, Wv. One aunt, Cortez Scales of Columbus, OH.

Willie loved his extended family which included 5 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law and host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Willie was beloved by many lifelong friends including Gordie Roop, Richard Tocado, John Roop, David Gonzalez, Bill Zaferatos, Bill "Crowbar" Davis, Diamond Dave Wyatt, Jimmy Kelly, Randy Nary, and many more.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 12 PM at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV with Elder David L. Moore and Minister Alice Moore-Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until service time on Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Moore Sr., Robert Blaney Sr., Shawn Hairston, Clinton Staples, Shaun Jones, Steven Robinson, Brad Harris and Jeffery Price.

Flower girls will be relatives and friends of the family.
