William "Bill" Gravely, Jr.

William "Bill" Gravely Jr., age 90, of Piney View, WV went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.

Born on September 4, 1934 in Wickham, WV, he was the son of the late William Walter Gravely Sr. and Mary Moore Gravely Richards.

Mr. Gravely was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA District 29, Local 5770.

He was a member of Grace and Truth Ministries, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, ginseng hunting, and making handmade fishing jigs.

Mr. Gravely was the owner and operator of Bill's Trout Jigs. He was a supplier of jigs for J.& J. Corner in Crab Orchard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin  Gravley; a brother Gene Gravley; three grandchildren,  Christopher, Kimberly and Sarah Gravley;  a great grandchild, Nathaniel Gravley; a special sister-in-law Patricia Fox Otto.

Those left to cherish his memory include  his loving  wife of 48 years, Mariea Fox Gravely; children Gary (Bobbie) Gravley; Melvin (Debbie) Gravley, and Cheryl (Gary) Rafaloski; a daughter-in-law  Lori Gravley; grandchildren: Jason Gravley, Jennifer Jennings, Daniel Gravley, Crystal Grabowski, Barry Hefner, Carli Gravley, and Keegan Gravley; eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; a brother Bert (Barbara) Gravley; Mariea's family of five brothers and their wives, and a sister  and her husband. He also had a special godson, Dwayne Diehl and long time friends Carl and Shelma Hart, and his buddy Robert Fox.

The family extends special thanks to the great care provided by Bowers Hospice House . Also special thanks is given to our friends and family for all of  their love and support.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bill Spencer and Dwayne Diehl officiating. Burial  will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
