Yuvonne Thompson

Yuvonne Goins Thompson, age 64, of Beckley, WV passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on December 27, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter Ruth Shiflett Goins of Backus Mountain, and the late Thurman "Sonny" Goins.

Yuvonne, as she was known by family and friends, was a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School, attended Huntington Business School and the College of WV.

She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and crafting. Yuvonne was of the Baptist faith.

Other than her mother, Ruth Goins, those survivors left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband of 34 years, Keith Thompson; a son Curtis Goins and wife Cassandra of Glen Morgan; two grandchildren Sierra and Chloe; a sister Sandra Vandall of Henderson, NC; a brother Rusty Goins and wife Bethany of Catlettsburg, KY. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Yuvonne also leaves behind her special fur baby, Maggie, who she dearly loved.

A Funeral Service will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Yuvonne Goins Thompson on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 12:00 PM, at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. Pastor Keith Manning will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Friends  may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
