Zelda Ann Wills

Zelda Ann Keffer Wills, 76, of Coal City, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the home of her daughter, where she had resided for many years.

Born May 6, 1949, in Coal City, WV, Zelda was the daughter of the late Porter Keffer and Vena Blevins Keffer.

Mrs. Wills was a 1969 graduate of Stoco High School. Throughout most of her life, Zelda was a devoted homemaker and also served as a caregiver for many families within her community. She was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Following its closure, she became a faithful member of Amazing Grace Worship Center in Midway, WV, attending until her health no longer permitted.

Zelda treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo until her health declined and found joy in coloring and puzzle books.

In addition to her parents, Zelda was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry E. Wills; her granddaughter, Sabrina Dalton; her brothers, Lloyd Keffer, Dan Keffer, David Keffer, John Keffer, James Porter Keffer Jr., Terry Franklin Keffer, Marvin Austin Keffer, and Joseph Paul Keffer; and her sisters, Ettie Brown, Dorothy Meadows, Beulah Miller, Flora Harless, and Fannie Hensley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: JD (Mary) Wills of Beckley; Melisa Wills (Ronnie Fink) of Coal City; Sandra (Kevin) Dalton of Coal City; and Kayla Wills (Charles Moore) of Beckley; a sister, Ruth (Rev. Charlie) Bolen of Coal City; two brothers, Roy (Karen) Keffer of Ohio and Burl (Sandy) Keffer of Coal City; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Joe) Overbay of Alabama, Nancy (Dean) Sturgill of Soak Creek, Dolly Keffer of Coal City, and Betty Keffer of Oak Hill; eight grandchildren, Amber (Justin) Snuffer, Dakota (Brandi) Wilson, Edmond (Cheyenne) Dalton, Sabrina Wilson, Davion Wills, Davina Wills, Ronnie Blevins, and Matthew Blevins; nine great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Gage, and Bailey Lafleur; Eli and Olivia Dalton; Axxel and Amari Wilson; and Josie and Jaxson Ayers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is extended to Mary Wills, Dr. Khanna, and the compassionate staff at CAMC Cancer Center Beckley for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Zelda.

Funeral services will be held at The Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 3:00 pm, with her nephew, Gary Cole, and her Pastor, Tommy Dove, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.  A private burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery, Coal City, WV.
