Roy Harding, Jr.

Roy Harding, Jr., age 77, of Beckley, WV passed away at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley on Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Born on May 7, 1939 at Kegley, he was the son of the late Ray Harding and Ruby Cordell Harding.

Mr. Harding was a retired diesel mechanic, having worked in the strip mining industry. He enjoyed providing for his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Robert Harding, Charlotte Odum, Patsy Harding and Virginia "Faye" Proctor.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carmen Farley Harding; three children, Terry Lee Harding of Beckley, Jo Ann Fitzwater and her husband, Charles, of Beckley, and Steve Brian Harding and his wife, Missy, of Scarbro. Four grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Fitzwater, Derik and Serinity Harding, and one great-grandchild, Sage. Siblings: Shirley McCristall, Sandra Harding and Carol Morris, all of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at the Oak Grove Christian Church, 273 Oak Grove Road, Beckley, WV, on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 5 PM with Pastor David Nichols officiating.

Friends may gather with the family from 4 PM until service time on Thursday at the church.
