Helen Faye Ferguson, age 89, of Stanaford, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born on October 1, 1928 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Essie Albert and Ruby Tyree Albert.
Mrs. Ferguson was a homemaker, and a member of Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, and had taught Sunday School at the church for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ferguson; a daughter, Peggy Jean Meadows, a brother, Charles Albert, two sisters, Barbara Nichols, and Crystal Thomas, and two grandchildren, Kimberly Gonzales and John Hughes.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include sons, John Ferguson, Jr. and wife, Grace, of Roanoke, Virginia, James Ferguson and wife, Jeannie of Dublin, Virginia, Calvin Ferguson and wife, Cathy of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Joe Ferguson and wife, Ronna of Bunn, NC; daughters, Shirley Genberg of Lanark, WV, Dora Davis and husband Haven of Maple Fork, Mary Lou Sharitz of Zebulon, NC, Betty Bennett and husband Tom of Crab Orchard, and Sharon Rykiel of Charleston; two brothers, William E. "Bill" Albert and wife Vernis of Daniels, and Robert Albert and wife Dorothy of Dothan, Alabama; two sisters, Joyce Laws and Rose Barnabi, both of Sprague, 22 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church on Monday October 30, 2017 at 2 PM with Pastor George Wood officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6 pm until 8 PM on Sunday at the church, and also one hour prior to the services on Monday. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
