Michael "Keith" Ward

Michael "Keith" Ward, age 49, of Cool Ridge, WV, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

Born on February 14, 1970 in Beckley, he is survived by his parents, Michael and Sherian Meadows Ward.

Others left to cherish his memories are the love of his life, Debbie; son, Jacob Ward of Beckley; daughter, Chelsea Carswell and her husband, Bobby, and grandson, Dean of NC, and two special boys he was dad to that he and Debbie love, Legend and Kayden.

Keith leaves behind his best friend and sister, Susan Moody and her fiancé, Nelson, and nephew, Grayson.  Also left are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and so many friends.  He never met a stranger and was generous to a fault.  His loyal pets: dogs, Charlie and Pixie and his kitties gave him much comfort during his illness.

A 1988 graduate of Shady Spring High School, Keith loved family, hot dog roasts and ATV trail riding.  He was an expert at rebuilding his Jeep, Blazer and trucks to suit his needs.  He was a true lover of life and he is so very loved and so very missed.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to special friend and caregiver, Chassity, and to the excellent staff and volunteers at Bowers Hospice House.

Services to celebrate his life will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley at noon on Friday, October 4, 2019 with Pastor Gary Ickes officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.  Graveside rites and burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
