Patricia "Patsy" Ann Combs

" Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me ."

Patsy Combs of Glen Daniel, WV, our loving, but feisty mother, grandmother, aunt, and best friend went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, surrounded by her family at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on April 2, 1952, at Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Nellie Thrasher Canterbury of Rock Creek, WV.

Patsy worked in the hospitality industry at Days Inn on Harper Park Drive, Beckley, until she retired. She enjoyed flowers, puzzle and coloring books, and spending time with her family.

Patsy was a member of the Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church at Bolt, WV, where she was saved and baptized.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard O. Combs, Sr., a brother, Terry Lee Canterbury, and a sister, Barbara Jean Byers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tracy Griffith (Larry) of Surveyor, WV, Bucky Combs (Susan) of Bolt, WV, and Pamela Lucas (Bo) of Glen Daniel, WV. Grandchildren, Kayla Acord (James) of Eccles, WV, Stephanie Griffith (Charlie Shumate) of Coal City, WV, Nick Griffith of Surveyor, WV, Rayna Horton (Preston), Katie Combs (Josh Riser) all of Bolt, WV, Billy Lucas (Carrie) and Krystn Lucas all of Glen Daniel, WV, and Alex Lucas (Lisa) of Pax, WV. Great grandchildren, Jayden and Kallie Acord, Raylee and Natalee Shumate, Jaxon, Hunter, Ben and Tyler Horton and Ronnie Lucas. Brothers, Jimmy Dale Canterbury (Rose) of Defuniak Springs, FL, Roscoe "Skipper" Canterbury (Velvet) of Dorothy, WV. Sisters, Daisy Combs (Danny Scott) of Rock Creek, WV, and Connie Canterbury (Jim Covey) of Glen Daniel, WV, brother-in-law, John Combs of Glen Daniel, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to thank the physicians and nurses at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and Bowers Hospice House for the care given to Patsy over the past three weeks.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Monday, April 18, 2022, at 3 PM at the Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church at Bolt, WV with Pastors Corey Brooks and Dewey Lowe officiating.
